The Best "mineral makeup"

Q: I have heard a lot about mineral makeup. There are so many companies out there who sell it. I’m wondering what is the best? Bare Escentuals? ColorScience? Sheer Cover? I’m so confused!!!

Technically, most mineral makeup is the same. The main ingredients are titanium dioxide, bismuth oxychloride, and zinc oxide. Unfortunately, these items can be irritating to the skin on some people (20% of the population has a know allergy to bismuth oxychloride-it causes them to itch).

I created an alternative to mineral makeup that is free of all the above ingredients, is lighter, buildable, non-irritating, and has added botanicals and antioxidants. I have been told that it’s much better than BE!!!

When I went looking for an alternative to traditional mineral makeup, I simply couldn’t find it. It seems that they all use the traditional formulation, which was created over 30 years ago. I decided that a change needed to be made, so everyone could wear a powder foundation that is all natural, organic-based and vegan. At the same time, I wanted a product that was light and good for your skin. Voila! Christopher Drummond Beauty was born!!!

Henri Bendel "Open See"

Keep your fingers crossed for me! Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I will be in line with my best buddy Laura (we call ourselves Will and Grace) to the “Open See” at Henri Bendel!

Very exciting….what will I be doing there? It is a way to instantly meet and show your products to the buyers at Bendel’s. This means, I could potentially have great news by this time tomorrow. If they like what they see, they will ask me to participate in a week-long “trunk show” at the store. If sales go well, it’s possible that they would ask us to come on as a permanent vendor….

So, I will get there at 7am and wait and wait..then, I will get my big opportunity to show my makeup line to the beauty buyer!!!

I will be sure to let you all know how it goes!!

Skin Hydration

Beauty Myth:
If I drink lots of water, my skin will be more hydrated.

Beauty Reality
Severe dehydration from lack of water can make your skin look tired, but the best way to get moisture to your skin is to use an actual moisturizer. Hydrating skincare formulas are specifically designed to deliver and replenish moisture in your skin, which is a different process than replenishing moisture in your body. The right moisturizer will also help your skin retain its moisture. We also recommend using a cream foundation with hydrating benefits thats especially good for dry or dehydrated skin.

Advice For Clear Skin

SAY ‘GOODBYE’ TO BLEMISHES
When you star on the glam show Gossip Girl, your skin has to look good. Kelly Rutherford is a fan of Beverly Hills facialist Vera Kantor’s Verabella natural skincare products, especially her “must-have” favorite: Kiss Zit Goodbye ($18.50), a blemish-clearing potion formulated with organic willow bark, tea tree oil, witch hazel and camphor.”It’s the most elegant way of getting rid of a blemish,” says the actress, who also made a convert of costar Jessica Szohr.
