Skin is in for spring and summer 2010!!!!!
Many people are asking me what are the makeup trends for spring and summer of 2010. My answer is simple: “skin”.
You see, Christopher Drummond Beauty is a makeup company that is very different. We don’t want you to have to use our products. We like to promote healthy and flawless skin naturally, and not through making it “look” like it is natural by piling on makeup. For this reason, we have created a makeup line that promotes healthy skin: it won’t clog pores, damage the skin with harmful chemicals, or give you a made up look. In short, this is beauty the way nature intended-with a little help from us, of course.
SPRING/SUMMER 2010 MAKEUP TRENDS:
Healthy skin. Healthy looking skin will always be in fashion. A radiant glow, blemish-free and even skin is the ultimate fashion accessory. To get this look, you must start with a good skin regime. After all, you can’t use bad skincare and expect your skin to look good. At CDB, we created our “Facial Revitalizing Serum” that is made to be an effective all-in-one treatment for all skin types. It will help to firm, tighten, refine the pores, decongest the skin, and even out skin tone. At the same time it will hydrate the skin and hold moisture in. With ingredients like Carrot extract, DMAE, hyaluronic acid, and meadowfoam extract, you are guaranteed that your makeup will go on smoothly, while at the same time getting amazing benefits from all natural ingredients.
Foundation. Gone are the days of caking on heavy liquid foundation that is also bad for your skin. Summer 2010 is all about sheer powder foundations that minimize skin imperfections, while at the same time allowing the skin to breathe, while looking utterly natural. Veludo Velvet Foundation is perfect for this. While imparting a healthy glow to the skin, this light-as-air foundation is free of titanium dioxide, bismuth Oxychloride and zinc oxide. It is the only powder foundation of its kind, and it will help to transform your skin into a healthy powerhouse. By infusing organic extracts into the formula, it will also act as a treatment. Simply dust it all over your face, and you are done! Sheer. Healthy. Beautiful. Easy.
Color. Following the trend of healthy skin, the colors for Spring/Summer 2010 are beautiful but muted. While 2009 was about brash, unnatural colors, 2010 is lending itself to naturally radiant colors that truly compliment the skin, while still adding a touch of whimsy and carefree splendor. Colors such as a slightly shimmery baby blue, a barely there soft pink, and a softly noticeable tangerine color are all going to be the “go to” colors of the second half of this decade. These colors work on everyone, and are effortless. They lend themselves to an organic feeling of beauty that isn’t at all contrived. Colors like this bring more focus to the skin, cheekbones, eyes and lips. Instead of covering everything up on the face, Spring/Summer 2010 colors help to show the beauty that is there.
Lips. Coral is a great color for most everyone on the lips. Whether it is bright or muted, anyone can wear it. It is always fresh and youthful looking, while at the same time not crazy and blatant. It is rich yet subtle at the same time. It is a new classic that will be explored throughout the year. Lip liners are not used much anymore, but it is always a great idea to have a beautiful nude liner. It helps to fill the lips, prevent bleeding, and looks like a natural extension of the lips. Plus, it works will all colors, so you don’t have to worry about having 20 different colored lip pencils. One nude lip liner works for everything.
Eyes. Two trends are prevalent for 2010 for the eyes, and both include the bottom lid. Adding a splash of color with no heavy liner on the bottom looks fresh, modern and great. It’s a way to add color to the eyes without going overboard. Just take your favorite colored eyeshadow or pencil and add a thin line of color on the bottom lid. Then, blend it out. This color should not match the top lid. It should be a baby blue, light green or light purple color. Use with or without mascara.
Another eye trend is no makeup at all on the bottom. Adding a nice thick liner on top with rich mascara and a colored shadow paired with a minimally bare bottom lashline opens the eyes up, and looks youthful and fresh. Add a small amount of mascara to the bottom lashes, and that’s it. No liner, no color. Just mascara. It keeps the eyes from looking too heavy and is great for everyday.
Most important is to learn what you are putting on your face. Read your ingredients and educate yourself about the harsh ingredients being put into cosmetics. Make educated decisions about your makeup. After all, you want your skin to look it’s best, and what you put on it will directly effect the look and feel of the skin.
