Q:
Could you please let me know what make up is best for eczema around the eye area and on the face.
Also why are so many make up ranges have titanium dioxide when it is a carsnogenic agent?
A;
Hi. The best makeup for eczema is something that is very gentile and free of toxins and chemicals. While eczema is different on everyone who suffers from it, and thus makes it difficult to treat, it is known that chemicals in makeup and skincare can make it worse.We have had great success with Christopher Drummond Beauty, and our customers who have eczema. Our products do not cause harsh reactions, and have been known to help calm the skin.
Our Concealer is specifically good with eczema, because it is hydrating and calming to the skin.
As for Titanium Dioxide, it is not a "known" carcinogen. It is a known irritant when inhaled, however. It is a suspected level 2 carcinogen, but it has not been proven. I must be clear that not ALL of our products are free of TD; however, our core powders are known as makeup that is free of titanium dioxide. There are trace amounts in some of our products to help them adhere to the skin better. To see our ingredient list, please look HERE
There are many ingredients that are "suspected" carcinogens that are used in everyday cosmetics. Here in America, there is very little regulation as to what can be put in cosmetics--the industry "regulates" itself. Many companies take advantage of this and use unsafe ingredients. For instance phtalates are used in skincare, when in Europe, this ingredient is illegal, because it is a known endocrine disruptor in children. Lead is used in lipstick here in the states. This is also a known carcinogen. Why do companies use ingredients that may be harmful? We have no idea.
Christopher Drummond Beauty has painstakenly gone through all of our ingredients and made sure that we have the safest and purest makeup line possible. It is free from harsh chemicals, known carcinogens, and has ingredients to help strengthen the skin. We truly care about our products and how they affect you!
